HTC invests in new ARBMAX D35 tracked chipper to boost speed, access and output

HTC Arbor Services has taken a major step forward in capability with the addition of a new ARBMAX D35 tracked drum chipper — a compact, high-performance machine designed for demanding commercial workloads and challenging access.

For councils, housebuilders, and principal contractors, the impact is simple: faster clearance, smoother site logistics, and less disruption — especially on schemes where timelines matter and access is tight.

Why the D35 is a game-changer for HTC (and for clients)

The ARBMAX D35 pairs serious power with practical mobility, including a 75hp Deutz Stage V diesel engine (no AdBlue) and a remote-operated tracked undercarriage for confident movement across rough ground and awkward compounds.

A few standout features that translate directly into better outcomes on-site:

  • Faster processing, less backlog: a 350mm x 450mm feed opening and dual-drive feed system with Hardox-toothed feed wheels mean more material through the machine, quicker.

  • Better chip consistency + easier maintenance: a three-knife drum rotor with quick-change blades and a quick-change biomass screen system helps keep quality high and downtime low.

  • Safer, smoother operation: oversized folding hopper, triple safety stop bars, multiple e-stops, plus two chipping modes (Logs & Brash) and Eco-Mode for controlled, efficient running.

  • Logistics-friendly: at 2,700kg, the D35 is designed to be transport-friendly on standard plant trailers — useful when you’re moving between multiple sites.

  • Placement precision: a 360-degree rotating discharge chute helps HTC keep chip where it needs to be — cleaner sites, easier loading, fewer double-handles.

A big step forward for HTC

“This is a serious investment for us — and a big step forward in what we can deliver at pace,” said Andy Hollingsworth, Founder and Owner of HTC Arbor Services. “The D35 gives us more production, better access, and more control on complex sites. For clients, that means fewer pinch points, faster clearance, and a team that can keep your programme moving without compromising on safety or finish.”

“It just eats it” — AJ Bloomer puts the D35 through its paces

Before it went straight into frontline use, the D35 was test-run by AJ Bloomer, HTC Arborist (20+ years’ experience) — and it passed with flying colours.

“The first thing you notice is the pull — it grabs brash and timber and just keeps feeding,” said AJ. “We ran it hard and it didn’t feel like it was labouring. The tracking and remote control make a massive difference for positioning, and switching between Logs and Brash modes is proper practical. It’s quick, it’s powerful, and it’s going to save time on every clearance job.”

With the D35 now in the fleet, HTC is ready to take on larger volumes, tighter access jobs, and time-sensitive programmes with even greater efficiency — while maintaining the same professional standards clients expect.
